A young Iranian woman suspected of "loose morals" was beaten and then burned alive by her father and brother, press reports said Saturday.

The pair tied her down, beat her and then immolated her at the family home in the western city of Kermanshah because they suspected here of corruption and loose morals, the Hambastegi paper said.

She died before friends and neighbors could save her.

The paper said such incidents have been regular occurrences in certain parts of the country, where traditional customs play a big role in tribal life -- TEHRAN (AFP)
