Paraguay stunned Brazil in the South American World Cup Qualifier, terminating the four-time champions 2-1 in a dramatic finale at Asuncion Tuesday.

It was Brazil's second-ever defeat in a World Cup qualifier, and the result peaked Paraguay only one point above Brazil, who have nine points and Brazil on eight.

Carlos Paredes gave Paraguay a six-minute lead and substitute Jorge Campos scored a spectacular goal in the 83rd minute, nine minutes after Rivaldo had scored to seemingly salvage a point for Brazil.

Brazil's coach Wanderley Luxemburgo could face enormous lashes by Brazilian officials for his teams' lackluster performance and his future as the coach may be at stake.
