ALBAWABA - In a shocking move aimed at ruining the legacy of his predecessor, U.S. President Donald Trump said that all executive orders and official documents signed by former President Joe Biden through the automated signature system known as the "auto-pen" would be canceled.
Trump said that any order signed with the auto-pen is "invalid" because it wasn't signed by Biden himself. He said that this method makes the documents issued during the previous administration less legitimate.
Trump said in an official statement that he would cancel "every executive order and any other directive signed via auto-pen." He also said that Biden "was not directly involved in the signing process." Trump said that the move was a broad review of decisions made during Biden's presidency that he thought did not meet the standards for presidential approval.
Later, the president wrote a long post on Truth Social that went into more detail about the announcement. He said that about 92% of Biden's documents were issued through the auto-pen and called them "null and void." Trump said that "radical leftists" were putting Biden on the back burner and acting like the president instead.
Trump also said that using the auto-pen without the president's permission is against the law. Trump said that if Biden now says he personally signed those papers, he will be charged with perjury.
The decision is one of Trump's biggest changes to Biden-era policies so far, and it is likely to spark legal and political debate over the legality of thousands of federal actions taken between 2021 and 2025.
