The organization Doctors for Humans Rights said on Sunday through social media that physicians at Soroka Univesity Medical Center in Beersheba are refusing to forcibly conduct any tests on a protesting Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike.
Mohammed Allaan, an accused Islamic Jihad member, is refusing to have any tests performed on his persons. Doctors have agreed to refrain from performing any test due to Allaan's ability to express his desire not to receive any medical treatment.
Allaan has been detained without charge since November and was "at immediate risk" of death after fasting for over 50 days, The International Committee of the Red Cross warned Friday.
