Seven police and a protester were slightly injured Thursday during clashes with striking workers at a metals plant in the southern city of Huelva, police said.
About thirty strikers were arrested.
Police used anti-riot gear to disperse some 400 workers after they refused to clear a road they had been blocking, according to a spokesman for the police.
The workers responded by throwing rocks at police.
The Huelva metal workers began their strike three weeks ago to press for a contract that would apply to the entire sector -- HUELVA (AFP)
