ALBAWABA - According to local news outlet Yonhap, South Korean police have launched a second raid against the presidential compound in the capital Seoul.
As part of their investigation into martial law, police attempted to conduct another raid on the presidential office compound Thursday, one day after their first raid which was unsuccessful, officials told Yonhap.
At about 2:00 p.m., the case's National Office of Investigation (NOI) dispatched representatives to the Yongsan area to gather records and materials related to President Yoon Suk Yeol's unexpected declaration of martial law on December 3.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) headquarters, which is next to the presidential property, was the target of Thursday's raid, according to the police, and the presidential office was not searched. When martial law was in effect, the command used the JCS building.
