Police Seize 96 Satellite Dishes in Southern Iran

Police in the southern province of Yasouj seized Thursday 96 satellite dishes, an official was quoted as saying by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA). 

He said that the banned devices, originally produced in Japan and South Korea, were discovered during routine checks of two cars.  

He added that the smugglers intended to take them to Isfahan province for sale. Satellite dishes are banned in the Islamic republic, and are usually smuggled from Gulf states into Iran and sold on the black market - Albawaba.com.
