Pope John Paul II on Monday expressed his "anxiety and concern" at the US and British military strikes against Afghanistan during an audience in St Peters' Square.
"I want above all to share with you and confide in the Lord the anxiety and concern aroused in us by this delicate moment in international life," the pontiff declared to around 10,000 people gathered in the Vatican's main square, before calling for peace -- VATICAN CITY (AFP)
