On Sunday, Jordan's King Abdullah II spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Colin Powell regarding Israeli-Palestinian violence, the official Petra agency reported, according to AFP.

Abdullah emphasized, "the need to pursue efforts aimed at ending the circle of violence with a view to preparing the ground for a return to the negotiating table," it said.

Meanwhile, Jordanian Foreign Minister Marwan Moasher, who began on Thursday a European tour, has called Israel's isolation of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in Ramallah "unacceptable." (Albawaba.com)
