Premier Hong Kong convention and exhibition venue to welcome building & decoration, furniture, eco protection, sporting trade events

AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong’s world class convention and exhibition facility, will be an exceptionally busy sourcing hub as four major international trade fairs take place in the venue this coming October 2008.

Hong Kong International Building and Decoration Materials & Hardware Fair, Hong Kong International Furniture Fair 2008, Eco Expo Asia and Sports Source Asia (SSA) will all take place at AsiaWorld-Expo from October 28 to 31, 2008.

The 3rd edition of the Hong Kong International Building and Decoration Materials & Hardware Fair is certain to provide a more effective sourcing platform for exhibitors and buyers as it combines the highly successful Hong Kong International Building Materials & Construction Equipment Fair with the equally popular Hong Kong International Hardware & Home Improvement Fair. The fair is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Ltd (CIEC).

The 2008 fair is, on a larger scale, expected to bring 300 quality exhibitors from around the world, showcasing a wide range of products including building materials, decorative materials, hardware and Do-It-Yourself products, bathroom fittings and sanitary ware, doors / windows and accessories, building technology, safety and security system, building engineering and service, as well as lawn and yard products.

Major exhibitors have confirmed their participation in the 2008 fair. They include Hong Kong’s Year Full Group Holdings Limited, which specialises in bamboo flooring, outdoor decking, bamboo veneer and furniture, and Wls (Oversea Projects) Limited, which mainly produces stone, tiles and building materials; Malaysia’s EOS Industries, which produces aluminum ladders; Austria’s Josef Krenn GmbH, which focuses on hardware tools; and wallpaper supplier Eastern Arts Yuemei from USA.

The third edition of the Hong Kong International Furniture Fair will serve as an important gateway for those exploring the markets of the Chinese mainland. The fair is co-organised by HKTDC and Kenfair International Ltd. Around 250 exhibitors around the world are expected to join the 2008 fair. Major exhibitors, including Brema Marketing GmbH & Co. KG from Germany, Kingsford (Hong Kong) Limited from Hong Kong, Otsuka Furniture Co., Ltd. from Japan, Rainbow from Australia and Safretti B.V. from Netherlands, have already shown their confidence in the fair.

The ever popular IGLOO zone will continue to display furniture that is Inspirational, Glamorous, Lively, Original and Outstanding. This premium zone is fun and unique and puts the focus on top-notch design and branding.

Apart from the IGLOO and Classic Furniture zones, the 2008 show will feature more new office supplies. As office design is now recognised as a powerful tool to convey a good corporate image, the fair will have a bigger selection of office furniture.

Market leaders and decision-makers from all over the world will be convening at the third annual Eco Expo Asia, Hong Kong’s professional trade fair for environmental protection products and services.  This event is not only receiving strong support from the environmental industry, but it is also welcoming a delegation of top international business executives, as part of a visit organised by the Hong Kong Forum. There will be 4 new special highlights in Eco Expo Asia 2008, namely Air Quality, Eco-friendly Product, Energy Efficiency and Waste & Recycling. The fair is co-organised by HKTDC and Messe Frankfurt.

Eco Expo Asia and Eco Asia Conference will run concurrently at AsiaWorld-Expo.  The Eco Asia Conference has established itself as a major environmental event that covers significant environmental topics. This year, the conference will also focus on the four major highlights of Eco Expo Asia, further augmenting the importance of these four categories.  Both events will be held from October 28 to 31, 2008, with the last day to be made open to the public.

The first edition of SSA in 2007 was well received by the industry. This year, SSA returns with clearly stronger support. The China Sporting Goods Federation, Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (TSMA) and Korea Sporting Goods Industry Association (KOSPA) are confirmed as supporting organizations for this annual event.

350 exhibitors from around the world are expected to join the fair. Important manufacturers and suppliers have already confirmed early their participation in SSA 2008. Among them are Hong Kong’s China Sports Equipment Trading (HK) Co Ltd, Dart International Garment Ltd (Hong Kong), Latitude Limited, Robic, Winsport, Chinese mainland’s Dow Corning, Erke, Peak, Qyield and XTEP (China) Co., Ltd., and from Taiwan, CSG, Topper Crown and Evergreat Optical. The fair is jointly organised by HKTDC and MMI - Munich International Trade Fairs Pte Ltd.
