Organizers of the 2002 Ideal Arab Mother and Ideal Arab Family competitions have started to advertise for the event that will take place within the Dubai Summer Festival 2002.
The have released entry forms in leading local, regional and international Arabic magazines, said Khaleej Times on Thursday.
Applicants are required to fill in the forms and fax or e-mail them to the DSF office before December 31, along with necessary documentation as per the rules of the competition.
The Ideal Arab Mother and Ideal Arab Family competitions are being organized by under the directions of Gen. Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister.
To enter the competition, participants have to write a personal account of their achievements, experiences or unique qualities in an essay of under five pages. The winners will receive a cash award of $10,000 each, to be given away during the closing ceremony of DSF 2002.
According to the paper, The Ideal Arab Mother competition is open to women above 45 years of age. It will take into account five parameters: psychology, social interaction, family ties, approach to education and religious values imparted by her to her children.
According to Dubai online, Dubai's culture is firmly rooted in the Islamic traditions of Arabia.
