President of Algeria, Abdelaziz Bouteflika will pay a state visit to the Republic of Korea from December 8 to 11, 2003, at the invitation by President Roh Moo-hyun.
President Roh and President Bouteflika will hold the ROK-Algeria Summit on December 9, and exchange views on various issues of mutual interest including the recent regional situation, ways to promote bilateral cooperative ties, and cooperation in the international arena, the South Korean foreign ministry announced.
President Bouteflika's visit is the first visit, not only by an Algerian president, but by a head of state from the northern African region.
