U.S. President Bush, greeted with a massive outpouring of affection in Georgia, a former Soviet republic, expressed strong support for the fledging democracy in Georgia Tuesday, saying, "You've got a solid friend in America."
Bush encouraged Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to use peaceful means to settle disputes with two separatist regions — Abkhazia and South Ossetia — which are aligned with Moscow.
The American leader offered to help resolve the disputes if his assistance is requested.
