Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday that the country needs firm determination and efforts of all walks of people for its development. The president added, "The country cannot be developed through holding political gatherings."

Ahmadinejad made the remark while addressing thousands of local residents of the city of Sabzevar. "There are several things which should be done for the country's development. We should all use our utmost potentials in this regard," he said. He added, "Today, enemies of God and humanity are angry and cannot tolerate progress of the Iranian nation," he was quoted as saying by IRNA.

"They should know that they cannot inflict the slightest damage to the country and this brave nation, which has always resisted (against enemies)."

The president said, "If we celebrate Iran's joining the international nuclear club today, it is because this nation has paved this path during the course of the past 27 years by relying on Almighty Allah, relying on its own bravery and resistance."
