Princess Sumaya University Introduces Space Education to Jordan

The Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) recently welcomed a delegation from the International Space University (ISU) of Strasburg France. The delegation, which was headed by ISU President Professor Michel Sympson, and which included Dr. Ali Mashat the founder of the Arabsat Network, was received by PSUT President Professor Hisham Ghassib.

During their visit to the university campus, members of the ISU delegation met with PSUT's Head of Board of Trustees HRH Princess Sumaya Bint El-Hassan. During their talks with Princess Sumaya the ISU delegation were introduced to PSUT's future plans, its goals, its educational programs, and its mission.

The talks held between PSUT and ISU were sealed with a Memorandum of Understanding that was signed at the PSUT campus and in the presence of HRH Princess Sumaya., The MOU signed will allow faculty members of PSUT to exchange valuable experiences with faculty members from ISU., for both parties will be working side by side to administer joint faculty and student exchange programs, joint workshops, conferences, lectures and joint summer programs as well.

Ending its visit to PSUT on a positive note the ISU delegation also granted students from PSUT the opportunity to take part in the ISU 2-week summer program held each year in Strasburg. According to the visiting delegation this move was made as a small token of its appreciation for PSUT and all that it offers to its students.

It is important to note that the ISU was first founded in 1987, and that since its establishment date it has graduated more than 2200 students all coming from 87 countries. Together with hundreds of ISU faculty and lecturers from around the world, ISU alumni comprises of an extremely effective network of space professionals and leaders that in turn actively facilitate individual career growth, professional activities and international space cooperation.
