The Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) was authorized by the Higher Education Council to begin offering Computer Graphics and Animation as a major in its undergraduate program. This authorization was granted by the Council after PSUT had successfully satisfied the requirements and the conditions for doing so. By offering its students this major, PSUT will be the first university in the Arab region to teach its students this discipline.

This new field of study aims at providing students with the latest skills of Information Technology used in the creation of games, movies, and cartoons. The major is designed so as to develop the creative thoughts and talents of students, while teaching them to use the latest innovation seen in the areas of computer animations and internet. For this purpose, the university's electronic labs have been fully equipped with the latest equipments, and software for this discipline to be taught effectively.

With this, PSUT becomes the first university in the Middle East to introduce such a major to its students, who will be trained at PSUT’s King Hussein School of Information Technology.

Professor Hisham Ghasib, the President of the University said that "PSUT always strives to introduce new majors that are inline with its areas of interest. It continuously strives to update the teaching methods it uses. The university works to provide its graduates with the skills they need to excel in the business world.”

Dr Ghasib also stated that the introduction of this new major in the region comes inline with university's ideology. It highlights its aim to always develop its course offerings and majors. By doing so, PSUT hopes to satisfy the demands of the modern world, and to be an asset to the process of unprecedented development in the region, and especially the development seen in Information technology, and communication sectors.

PSUT aims to highlight the excellent teaching abilities seen in Jordan.
