The winners of the second DSS summer draw were announced on July 3 in a glittering ceremony at the Century Mall, a member of Dubai Shopping Malls Group. Three draws were held in an evening marked by anxious waiting – the Dubai Shopping Malls Group Mega Raffle, the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group Raffle, and the Emarat draw.
Abdulla Amiri, DSF Office Operations and Logistics Manager and Head of DSS Raffle Committee said, “The number of nationalities that have been picked as winners is an indication of the popularity of raffle draws during this DSS. The excitement of raffle draws will reach its height when the DSS 2008 Grand Raffle is held at Lamcy Plaza on July 10. A lucky winner will have the chance to take home a 2009 model BMW X5 and AED 100,000 in cash, in addition to announcing winners of the other draws.”
Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group Raffle
The Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group Raffle announced eight winners during the draw giving away AED 10,000 to seven lucky winners and AED 50,000 to one lucky weekly winner. The winners in the draw are: Syed Sadique from Indian, Ravi Krishna from India, Saitona Raushat from Russia, Sulaiman from Indian, Aparna Reddy from India, Abobaker from India, and Wael Al Falasi from UAE. Haroon Malek from Pakistan won the AED 50,000 shopping vouchers.
Emarat Draw
The Emarat draw also announced its winners. Basheer Ahmed from Bangladesh won AED 25,000 and Ayman Mahmood Syed from Egypt took home a 42-inch television. Raffle tickets for the Emarat draw are available when a minimum purchase of AED 25 is made at the several Emarat fuel stations in Dubai.
Dubai Shopping Malls Group Mega Raffle
With cash prizes of AED 500,000 disbursed each week and a total cash prize of AED 4.5 million, the DSMG runs one of the most exciting promotions of DSS 2008. On a minimum purchase of AED 200, customers will automatically receive raffle coupons and be eligible for entering the raffle. Shoppers using MasterCard will double their chances of winning every time they shop.
The winners of the DSMG Mega Raffle are Jim Guild from Canada, Anastasiya from Ukraine, Ahmed Ayman Mahmood from UAE, Parambath Ahmed Abdullah from India, and Mohammed Al Nizami from Syria, each having won AED 100,000.
The raffle draw at Century Mall was accompanied by a live stage performance incorporating dance, music and light illusion, and held the undivided attention of the audience, especially children.
