Forces supporting the internationally recognized government have retaken a southern Yemeni city from Houthi rebels, the Associated Press reported Tuesday, the first major advance for pro-government troops since the Saudi campaign began.
Officials and witnesses said the forces reclaimed the city of Dhale and the command center for the 33rd Armored Brigade, loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The brigade is one of the largest army units and allied with the Houthi rebels.
