Anger at the escalating Israeli-Palestinian conflict spread to Britain on Friday as protesters burnt Israeli and United States flags in front of a London mosque.
The Jewish community in Britain said it had tightened security amid fears the Middle East conflict could spread here.
About 300 people gathered for a demonstration outside the Central London Mosque in the north west of the capital after Friday's afternoon prayers, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said. There were no arrests, she added.
Police and volunteers have stepped up patrols at synagogues and other Jewish community centers around the country in response to the threat of violence, community leaders said.
