Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the Middle East peace process with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak on Tuesday, ITAR-TASS news agency reported Tuesday.
The agency said that the conversation focused on the Israeli-Palestinian talks, which have been in deadlock after the collapse of the Camp David summit last month.
Putin confirmed Russia`s intention to continue making all efforts to help find mutually acceptable solutions to establish peace in the Middle East, said the agency.
Both Israeli and Palestinian leaders said they favor continuing their dialogue to reach a deal before a September 13th deadline when Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has threatened to declare an independent Palestinian state - Albawaba.com
