ALBAWABA - Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Kyrgyzstan on October 12, according to authorities in the Central Asian country.

Putin's visit to Kyrgyzstan is the first abroad trip the Russian president is due to make since the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant.

ICC issued an arrest warrant against Putin in March over the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.

An official of the Kyrgyzstan presidential office was cited: "By the invitation of the president of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on Oct. 12 the president of the Russian Federation will pay an official visit to our country."

Nevertheless, Russian media outlets reported that the president is due to hold a visit to a Russian air base in the city of Kant, Kyrgyzstan for the 20th anniversary of its opening.
