Pyramedia has completed post-production of three documentary episodes for the Prince of Poets reality TV show scheduled to go live on Thursday 11th June. The documentary episodes document the three days of auditions held in Abu Dhabi earlier this month and will precede the live show in the three weeks leading up to its first live broadcast. The episodes, which began last Thursday, are to be aired on Abu Dhabi TV at 22:30 on Thursdays from May 21 to June 4.
Auditions were filmed at the Abu Dhabi Folklore and Theatre Society for three days, the post-production editors had almost 60 hours of footage to sift through to produce the three one-hour episodes that lead up to the live competition. Working round the clock for a month, the editors have prepared specialized clips and sequences that will be aired during the episodes.
Over the two days of auditions, Pyramedia's large crew of cameramen filmed 300 poets reciting their poems, the opinions of the judges, the feelings of each poet as they went in and out of the audition room and their hidden thoughts in the Diary Room, a private room that was created to give audiences a closer and more personal look at the competitors as they pour their hearts out to the camera.
The auditions were filmed using 10 HD cameras and a state-of-the-art HD OB van with Pyramedia staying true to their aim of producing one of the largest theatre-to-television productions in the Middle East.
With over 300 poets competing in front of a celebrity panel of five judges, the editors worked through all the footage along with the producers of the show to put together the three episodes. Revealing the serious and funny moments as well as the fears and excitement of the poets, the editors work to bring the contestants closer to the viewers at home.
Pyramedia Producer of Prince of Poets, Mona Al Ruwaini quoted, "This is our third season producing the live reality TV show and each year we have grown to expand our capabilities of producing quality content for TV. We have been working around the clock to prepare the theatre set at Al Raha Beach Theatre in Abu Dhabi and the format for this season of Prince of Poets and i'm positive we will receive the high ratings we are used to in this region."
