Qatar has announced it will chair the sixth Middle East Geosciences Exhibition and Conference organizing committee (GEO 2004), reported the Gulf Daily News on Monday.
The event will be held in April 2004.
The announcement was made following a meeting between show organizers Arabian Exhibition Management chairman Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and the Bahraini embassy's charge d’affaires, Fouad Al Maawda, with Qatari Energy and Industry Minister Abdullah Al Attiyah.
During the meeting, the full support of Qatar and Qatar Petroleum was pledged for the three oil and gas industry related trade events in Bahrain, said the paper.
Qatar Petroleum will provide industry experts to sit on the organizing committee of all three oil and gas industry-related events.
It will also take flagship stands on the exhibition floor and send groups of delegates to attend the associated technical conferences.
This includes the 3rd Middle East Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition and Conference (Middle East Petrotech) from October 29 to 31, the 5th Middle East Geosciences Exhibition and Conference (GEO 2002), from April 15 to 17 next year and the 13th Middle East Society of Petroleum Engineers Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (MEOS 2003) from March 22 to 25 in 2003.
Attiyah also agreed that Qatar Petroleum would chair the organizing committee of GEO 2004.
