Four people were killed in Qatari capital Doha on Thursday after a gas cylinder exploded, state television reported.
Airing footage of serious damage, Qatar state TV reported that the explosion went off in Doha's Landmark mall, according to Agence France Press.
The reasons behind the blast were not immediately clear, AFP reported.
TV footage showed paramedics carrying a covered body past rubble strewn some 50 meters away from the mall building, whose roof had caved in, according to AFP.
Photos posted of the incident on Twitter showed several damaged cars.
In May 2012, a fire in a major Doha mall left 19 people dead, including 13 children and four supervisors from an in-mall nursery, according to AFP.
