Qtel has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Jarir Bookstore, which will see a wide variety of communication services offered at locations across Qatar.
Established in 1974, Jarir Bookstore is well known as a leading supplier of office and school merchandise across the GCC region.
The company has expanded its business to include IT-related products including computers, hard disks, flash drives, wireless cards, PDAs and solutions like the popular BlackBerry, and its partnership with Qtel enables it to offer complete Internet and Smartphone services to customers.
Under the new agreement, Qtel point of sale counters will now be featured at Jarir Bookstore, providing customers with a range of services including bill payment, Hala Pay As You Talk and Shahry Pay Monthly services, recharge cards, Mobile Broadband, Dawli international calling cards and E-vouchers.
Jarir Bookstore, which has a strong culture of customer service, will provide complete in-store support for Qtel customers, and the two companies will work together on a range of special promotions.
Waleed Al-Sayed, Executive Director, Customer Services, Qtel said: “A key commitment of the Qtel Customer Charter is to continuously find ways to improve the service we give our customers. Our strong network of premium partners provides essential support in this area, and we’re very pleased to be working with a respected market leader like Jarir Bookstore.”
Qtel continues to extend its range of service areas and outlets through a range of partners across Qatar, including such familiar locations as Q-Post post offices. By working with Jarir Bookstore, which has a famously family-friendly atmosphere, Qtel is confident that their services will be even more accessible to families and young people,
Hani Al-Tawirqi, Vice President Projects and Properties, Jarir Bookstores, said: “We are pleased to be working with Qtel to extend value to our customers. With Smartphones and the Internet increasingly becoming part of our daily lives, it works well for us to collaborate with Qatar’s leading communication services supplier.”
Jarir Bookstore has distinguished its offering in Qatar through its high-level of customer service, repairs and technical support.  The two companies are anticipating a high number of students and parents visiting the store to ensure they have full educational supplies.
Qtel has traditionally played a key role in equipping students through the provision of new mobiles, and through its corporate social responsibility programme, “For Qatar, Hand in Hand.”
