Qtel today announced that it will shortly hit a new customer milestone of 50,000 mobile Broadband customers in Qatar, with the company likely to hit the magic number as early as this weekend.

Mobile Broadband was introduced in Qatar in 2008, and the popularity has surged in recent months, particularly since the launch of prepaid mobile Broadband in December 2009. Qtel has consistently invested in enhancing the Broadband network, so that customers have benefited from faster speeds and smoother downloads.

To celebrate the major milestone, Qtel has planned a special surprise for the customer registering as the 50,000th mobile Broadband user in Qatar.

This lucky customer will get FREE Unlimited Mobile Broadband service for one year, worth QR4900, plus a Free My-Fi Personal 3G Mobile hotspot and a new LG Netbook, for a combined prize value of QR 6938.

The prize is designed as an added bonus to thank customers for their support of this pioneering service, which provides access for everyone to the Internet across Qatar.

Qtel's Mobile Broadband service provides customers with Internet connectivity from any 3G-enabled device. Customers can expect to receive speeds ranging from 1Mega bits per second (Mbps) to 3Mbps, depending on their proximity to a Qtel 3G tower.

Customers who would like a chance of winning the 50,000th customer prize should visit the Qtel store at Villagio Mall this Thursday night, and ask for more information about Qtel’s mobile Broadband service.
