Under the patronage of Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, RACH Charity Foundation, a non-profit charity organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of underprivileged children and families, will be hosting a fundraiser in Dubai on March 25, 2010 to raise awareness and funds for the benefit of underprivileged communities across the region. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be divided among the Foundation’s various projects as well as a Dubai-based charity.
Held on the beachfront at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the fundraiser will include a reception followed by an evening of cultural entertainment, including a fashion show by internationally renowned Indian designer Manish Malhotra and a Bollywood music and dance production.
Princess Fay Jahan Ara, President of the RACH Charity Foundation, said, “We are very grateful to Her Royal Highness Princess Haya for Her support. Our main objective in hosting this fundraiser is to create awareness about the RACH Charity Foundation in the Middle East, and mobilize resources and support for the Foundation’s initiatives to ensure sustainable development of underprivileged communities. Equally, we seek to provide attendees a platform that facilitates meaningful interaction between cultures, creating an atmosphere of goodwill and understanding.”
Explaining why the RACH Charity Foundation chose to hold the fundraiser in Dubai, Princess Jahan Ara said, “As a cosmopolitan, multicultural city that is home to nearly 200 nationalities, Dubai provides amazing opportunities for cultural exchange, and the people of Dubai as well as its business community have always been supportive of charitable causes.”
As part of the evening, RACH Charity Foundation is also organizing an auction under the auspices of an internationally renowned auction house. The auction will feature a number of items donated by corporate institutions as well as the public at large, in addition to jewelry from the private collection of HRH Princess Fay Jahan Ara, a portrait painting of Hillary Rodham Clinton and an ancient manuscript of the Holy Quran donated by world-renowned psychotherapists Professors Georgio and Renzo Stendoro Rocca.
Established in 2007, the RACH Charity Foundation develops and supports community-based initiatives that provide sustainable solutions for the social and economic development of historically underprivileged communities in line with its vision of “helping people in need to help themselves". The Foundation’s activities cover four core areas of interest – Education, Healthcare, Essential Infrastructure & Services, and Social Integration.
