Four people, including a five-year-old girl, have been killed in eastern Algeria after heavy rain sparked flooding in the Oum el-Bouaghi region, national radio reported Wednesday, according to AFP.
The victims were all carried away by flash floods caused by torrential rains, it indicated. In addition, several homes, roads, as well as crops and electrical and telephone installations have been damaged in the flooding.
Earlier this week, Algerian newspapers reported that two women had drowned after being swept away by flood waters in the eastern towns of Oued Aouf and Taxent, while in Oum el-Bouaghi, two men and a teenager drowned after several streams burst their banks. (Albawaba.com)
