Weyak, etisalat’s exciting new multimedia portal, is offering a dedicated Ramdaniyaat service channel for the Holy Month. Weyak’s Ramdaniyaat channel will provide Internet customers with access to rich content including a complete version of the Holy Qura’an, prayer timings and a daily calendar of tempting recipes for Iftar and Sahour. Mobile services include downloadable Islamic graphics, video clips and ring tones. These can all be accessed using the Internet (http://ramadan.weyak.ae) or by using a mobile phone (http://mobile.weyak.ae).
“Weyak plays an important role in helping etisalat achieve its mission to extend people’s reach. Ramdaniyaat in particular is extremely important given that it helps provide immediate, anywhere access to rich and useful content and services,” said Mr Essa Al Haddad, chief marketing officer at etisalat. “We are delighted to offer this unique dual-access service to our customers in the UAE. Not only does this highlight our commitment to innovation, but also, our ability to deliver on our promises to provide continuously heightened levels of service.”
More than a dozen new interactive services are now available from Weyak’s mobile and Internet portals www.weyak.ae and mobile.weyak.ae. These include a calendar for prayers, supplications and a guide on ‘Your Health at Ramadan’ to support customers in their fasting during the Holy Month. Users can also send specially designed e-cards for Ramadan or Eid by accessing the portal.
Etisalat is also hosting competitions on its Ramdaniyaat channel. Its Fawazer Weyak competition offers cash prizes for visitors to the Weyak portal who must answer a different multiple choice question each day to progress. These questions cover a wide spectrum of topics including Islamic history and faith. Thousands of dirhams in prizes are on offer with many exciting prizes for the top ten ranked winners at the end of the competition.
“We feel our Ramadan offering and our Ramdaniyaat channel is highly comprehensive and fully realises our ambitions for Weyak. It is a proof-point for what we are trying to achieve. Ramdaniyaat brings together a variety of multimedia tools and provides them across different access technologies clearly showing the strength of Weyak’s proposition and the potential for the future,” concluded Essa Al Haddad.
