Real Madrid have agreed to pay Real Majorca $16 million for Spanish striker Diego Tristan but will have to wait for this weekend elections for club president to seal the deal, Spanish newspapers said Friday.
If it goes through, it would be the highest transfer fee ever involving a Spanish player.
Last season's president Lorenzo Sanz was behind the Tristan transfer move and his challenger Florentino Perez has denounced it as an election ploy - (AFP)
