After a leg breaking accident, paralyzed Superman star, Christopher Reeve is “expected to resume his full regime of exercise in six to eight weeks,” his publicist Wesley Combs said on Saturday, reported Fox online.

Reeve, 49, was recuperating at his home in New York.

“He’s fine,” Combs said.

Reeve, who was paralyzed in a 1995 horse riding accident, broke his leg Aug. 17 “during ongoing and routine physical therapy” and it was reset the following weekend at the University of California, Los Angeles, Medical Center, Combs said.

Meanwhile a few days before the accident, Reeve held a fund-raiser and attended several events for the Democratic National Convention, reported Fox.

“The cause of the break is unknown but is most likely due to bone density issues,” the spokesman said in a statement. “For spinal cord patients there is a constant need to maintain bone density through regular physical exercise and physical therapy.

“Even though Mr. Reeve participates in regular physical therapy, these are some of the issues facing him as well as all other spinal cord injured patients.”

Reeve, an activist in spinal cord research, is currently in discussions to direct a television project-Albawaba.com.
