Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa visited Saudi Arabia secretly on Monday where he held talks with officials related to the US terror attacks last week, according to a newspaper report on Tuesday.

The UAE’s Al Bayan Arabic daily said that the Saudis had sent a private plane to Cairo to take the top Arab diplomat to Riyadh.

The paper said that Moussa’s talks in the kingdom were related to a visit by Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to the country expected soon.

The secretary is said to have met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak at Sharm Al Sheikh on the Red Sea before leaving to Saudi Arabia.

Sources at the Arab League declined to comment on Moussa’s visit when contacted by the daily – Albawaba.com
