Russian authorities arrested a Chechen man in Moscow Friday who was carrying explosives, Itar-Tass quoted security officials as saying.
The news agency cited the officials as saying that the man belonged to a large criminal gang that has operated for a number of years in the city.
Authorities declined to say how much or what kind of explosives the man was carrying when arrested.
Security and police officials have combed the capital, searching for bombs, explosives, or weapons, since an explosion in an underground passage in Moscow killed eight people and injured nearly 100 on Tuesday.
They have yet to arrest a suspect for the bombing - MOSCOW (AFP)
