Jordan ranks 8th in the Arab World in terms of economic liberalization, according to a report released by the Washington-based International Heritage Institute for Research and Studies.

The report ranks Jordan 63rd out of 155 countries assessed worldwide for their degree of economic liberalization.

According to the report, cited by the Petra news agency, seven Arab countries have semi-liberal economies: the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Lebanon, Tunisia and Jordan.

The institute based the degree of economic liberalization on ten points: trade policy, budget deficit, government intervention in economic policies, monetary policy, foreign investment, financial and banking sector, level of wages and prices, intellectual property rights, legal and administration measures and black market activities – Albawaba.com
