Palestinian trade union leaders in the West Bank city of Hebron announced Wednesday that they would pay a bounty of one million Egyptian pounds ($265,000) for the assassination of Likud opposition leader, Ariel Sharon, reported Haaretz newspaper, quoting army radio.
Sharon became a worldwide target of Muslims for his September 28 visit to Al-Aqsa mosque, which triggered bloody confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli forces, who killed more than 200 Palestinians injured thousands.
Sharon told a Jewish forum in New York on Tuesday that he would make another visit to Haram al-Sharif because it was his right as an Israeli citizen – Albawaba.com
