Saudi Arabia Monday strongly denounced Iranian press reports accusing Riyadh of arresting and torturing a number of Christians.
"These allegations and accusations are false and distant from truth," SPA quoted a foreign ministry source as saying.
The source said the allegations were not in harmony with the principles and morals of the Saudi government.
The merits and teachings of Islam, said the source, call for the safeguarding of rights of Muslims and expatriates from different religions and ethnics.
