Saudi King Fahd has ordered the retirement of the director general of the internal security department, the official SPA news agency said Wednesday, just two days after a bomb explosion killed a German.
In a royal decree, the King ordered the "termination of the services of Lieutenant-General Saleh bin Taha Khsaifan by accepting his retirement upon his own request."
Meanwhile, in a second decree, Fahd appointed Khsaifan as an advisor to the royal court with rank of minister, but said he will work under the supervision of Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz.
The decrees did not link Khsaifan's retirement to a series of bombings that have hit the kingdom in the past two years and targeted Westerners. He was, however, in charge of the investigations. (Albawaba.com)
