Saudi Arabia dispatched Monday 16 tons of medical aid as well as ambulances destined for the Palestinians, the official SPA news agency said.
Three planes took off from Riyadh carrying the goods headed for El-Arish in Egypt, just over the border from the Gaza Strip.
Two more planes also set off for El-Arish to evacuate 16 wounded Palestinians and 10 helpers for treatment in Saudi Arabia, the agency said.
The operation is part of an air bridge, which King Fahd ordered to assist the Palestinians after the violence in Israel and the territories that left more than 100 people dead and 3,000 wounded.
