In its continued efforts to promote Jordan internationally, and to present its visitors the world’s automotive history , The Royal Automobile Museum held an exhibition of over 50 Le Mans Posters since 1923. This remarkable Franco-Jordanian relationship is owed to the incessant efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah Ibn al Hussein.

The exhibition was made possible, thanks to the recent collaboration between the Museum and the Le Mans Museum, as well as the French Cultural Centre. The artwork brought in over 8000 visitors during the 24 day exhibition.

To celebrate the closing of the exhibition, the Museum hosted a racing-themed “Pit Stop” evening with Her Excellency the French Ambassador, Corinne Breuze, in association with Total Oil Company.  The evening was supported by Mercedes-Benz Jordan, Intercontinental Hotel, Le Centre Culturel Français d'Amman, and Total Jordan.

The exhibition was the first of a series of events between both museums. The Director of the Royal Automobile Museum will also be attending the Le Mans 24 hour classic car races this weekend as Jordan’s representative, who plans for next year to include a Le Mans – winning car to be exhibited in Amman. “We are delighted to be involved with the world’s most prestigious and challenging automotive sporting event, and place the museum’s name before thousands of classic car race enthusiasts” said Raja Gargour, the Museum’s Director.  “We are looking forward to continuing this association and bringing to Jordan a glimpse of Le Mans winning cars next year”.

It is worth noting that the Royal Automobile Museum is open to the public daily, except Tuesdays, from 10:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs.
