The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai, has announced the construction of a new two-lane bridge at the Wimpy Al Futtaim Interchange. This will significantly smooth the flow of traffic from Al Aweer Road towards Nad Al Hamer Road. The project is expected to be completed in ten months.
The development of this project will coincide with the completion of the fourth interchange, which aims to link Deira with Bur Dubai through the Dubai Festival city via a bridge over the creek which consists of six lanes with a width of 30 meters towards Bur Dubai and seven lanes with a width of 33.7 meters towards Al Rabat Road in Deira..
Engineer Maitha Bin Adi, Director of Roads, at the RTA said, "RTA is continuing its commitment to develop and improve roads across Dubai to ease traffic flow. The construction of this bridge at the Wimpy Al Futtaim Interchange will considerably minimize travel time from Al Aweer Road and Nad Al Hamer. By completion of this project a new highway will be constructed starting from Al Khail Road in the South passing through Al Aweer and Nad Al Hamer, to the Airport Tunnel in the North."
This strategic project is a part of the integrated projects that the RTA is developing to provide smooth and safe transport.
