The Jerash Festival administration has decided to postpone Rum Band’s performance, until the last day of the event said the group’s programs manager Rusul Nasser.
“We were told that our band will perform as a quintet on the South Theater on the last day of the festival,” Rusul told Albawaba.com.
Rum Band, led by Tarek Nasser was scheduled to perform in the opening ceremony of the Jerash Festival 2000.
Rum Band’s performance was postponed in mourning for 13 Jordanian Elite Troop members, who were killed in a C-130 plane crash early Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the festival’s Director General, Akram Masarweh told Albawaba on Tuesday that the opening will include the national anthem, followed by the lighting of the festival’s torch and a poetry recital.
Rum band, established in 1998, is a Jordanian group comprised of 13-15 young musicians.
In an interview with Albawaba.com on Monday, band founder Tarek Nasser said the performance of Rum’s ‘Eyoun Ala Al-Sharq’ was scheduled to take place at the North Theater of Jerash on Wednesday.
