Russian jets flew 62 sorties over the past two days, hitting 187 targets in airstrikes, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing a Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson.

Igor Konashenkov, the Defense Ministry spokesman, said the strikes were carried out in the cities of Homs, Aleppo, and in Raqqa and Hama provinces.

Russia's airstrikes in Syria have continued unabated, even as a temporary ceasefire, brokered last week by Russia and the US, approaches.

Russia and Assad's government in Syria, however, have said they are ready to take concrete steps to implement the ceasefire on time.
