Russia thwarts 'massive' Ukrainian attack of 158 drones

ALBAWABA - Russia's defence ministry said that Moscow has foiled a "massive" Ukraine attack on Sunday morning. 

According to the ministry, the Russian air defense forces shot down 158 drones across 15 regions, including two over the capital.

The regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz revealed in a statement: "Our defenders are repelling an attempted massive UAV attack on the territory of the Bryansk region."

It further noted that 122 Ukrainian drones, that were downed by Russian defenses, were spotted over the regions of Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh and Belgorod.

In detail, Russian air defenses shot down 46 drones above the Kursk Region, 34 above the Bryansk Region, 28 above the Voronezh Region, as well as 14 others were hit above the Belgorod Region.

AFP reported that a coal-fired power plant and an oil refinery within the city boundaries were targeted in the Ukraine attack on Sunday morning.

Mikhail Shuvalov, Moscow Region's Kashira city, confirmed that three drones also targeted the Kashira State District Power Plant, but no casualties or damage were reported.
