A roadside bomb killed a Russian company worker and wounded several others in Algeria as they were travelling in a bus from a construction site to their home base, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

According to Reuters, the ministry said in a statement the attack occurred late on Saturday and classified it as an act of "terror." It said three Algerians as well as several Russians and Ukrainians were wounded and taken to hospital.

"On March 3, at 07:30 p.m. Moscow time (04:30 p.m. GMT), 130 kilometers southwest of the Algerian capital, upon return to their camp from the place of work to build a gas pipeline, the cars with 21 specialists of Stroitransgaz accompanied by Algerian gendarmes, were hit by two road bombs," the ministry's information and press department said.
