Russian defense minister declares control over Maryinka in Ukraine

ALBAWABA - In a recent development, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has officially announced that the Russian military now holds control over the settlement of Maryinka in the Donetsk region. 

The announcement came after a meeting between Shoigu and Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, according to a statement from the Kremlin Palace.

Russian Forces Secure Maryinka Amidst Southern Operations

Updating President Putin on the ongoing military activities in Ukraine, Minister Shoigu reported, "The Southern forces' offensive has successfully liberated the settlement of Maryinka in the southwestern part of Donetsk. The establishment of control over Maryinka is expected to enhance the defense against Ukrainian Armed Forces' attacks on Donetsk, simultaneously weakening the Ukrainian army's defensive position."

President Putin expressed his acknowledgment of the soldiers involved in the operation, suggesting that they deserve recognition and rewards for their role in the successful capture of Maryinka.
