Russia has never exported any assault weapon systems to Iran and does not plan to do so, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov told Russian reporters in Washington.
"We have only considered Iran's requests for defensive weapons, such as anti-tank systems, firearms, air defense. Such kinds of weapons cannot be destabilizing," the Interfax news agency quoted Ivanov as saying early Thursday.
"Iran has never asked for short-range missiles or anything else that could have destabilized the region," he conveyed. (Albawaba.com)
