Bahrain-headquartered Sabre Travel Network Middle East (STNME), the world’s leading provider of high performance travel solutions, is hosting an Airline Distribution Forum (Forum) in Cairo today [on Wednesday 28th April].  Bringing together airlines and travel agents from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the Forum will discuss global and regional industry trends and will show attendees how they can take advantage of the latest solutions from Sabre to help generate revenues and grow their business following a challenging year in the industry.

The event – being held at the prestigious Fairmont Nile City Hotel in Cairo - will cover key topics that are relevant to airlines seeking to optimize their distribution and merchandising strategies. These include identifying new opportunities and challenges such as the emergence of merchandising and how airlines can introduce new ancillary services to boost revenues, new trends in revenue management, new trends in online booking solutions for corporations and the benefits of building closer relationships with corporations and travel management companies.

Airlines who have confirmed their attendance include: Air Arabia, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, Nile Air, Sevenair, Syrian Arab Airlines, Tunis Air, Wataniya Airways, Iran Air, Mahan Airlines, Qatar Airways and Yemen Airways.

“We are investing heavily in our Egyptian business and this Forum demonstrates our commitment to helping our regional customers get through the current economic climate and recent challenges like the volcano travel crisis by leveraging trends to enhance the health and performance of the travel industry,” said Daniel Naoumovitch, Chief Executive Officer of Sabre Travel Network Middle East..

“We have been actively helping all our customers through last week’s ash crisis and I am confident that with our experience in this area and our unparalleled track record of servicing the regional travel industry, this event will enable our customers to improve their business performance resulting in bottom line profitability,” he said.

"We are showcasing next-generation solutions that empower airlines to increase their global reach, grow revenues and provide essential insight for their businesses. These solutions are backed by our industry-leading customer service and unparalleled track record of servicing the travel industry," Naoumovitch added.

Sabre’s solutions were critical in helping travel agencies and airlines manage through the ash situation last week. Sabre’s Flight Explorer solution was used by airlines to view the latest volcanic ash coverage, obtain the latest advisories and view current and planned flight paths in and out of Europe, while Sabre Recommendation Manager played a critical role in enabling airlines to quickly re-book passengers based on calculated values such as frequent flyer status, fares paid and class of travel.  Travel agencies also used Sabre Traveler Security and Data Suite to help locate all impacted travelers within 10 minutes, enabling them to proactively reach out to travelers to help manage changes to their travel plans.
