Famous Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki received a series of disapproving remarks on his yet-to-be-released movie Sadat when he attended the wedding of the late Egyptian leader’s daughter, reported the ‘Al Bayan’ daily newspaper.
Surprisingly, his most ardent criticizers were the two daughters from Sadat’s first wife Raqia and Riwaya.
According to ‘Al Bayan,’ the girls charged that Sadat completely ignored the presence of the late leader’s first wife, Iqbal Madi and her two daughters.
It all started when Ahmad Zaki, sat with the two women and their uncle, Iffat Sadat, and playfully asked them to give him their “honest opinion” on the film
Well, that’s exactly what he got.
“Okay,” said Raqia, “I would like to know how you managed to remove the part concerning my father’s first marriage when you actually covered 40 years of his life,” she charged.
“I would also like to know how you managed this movie without mentioning Iqbal Madi, who spent with Sadat his most dire years; the times where he was in jail and apprehended on various occasions,” she added.
Raqia also told Ahmad that he should think about those things and the effect they will have on the movie’s upcoming debut, on the first Ramadan Eid of this year.
Earlier this year, and in collaboration with her 3 daughters, Iqbal Madi published a novel, revealing the abuse she had endured from Sadat’s second wife, Jihan Sadat – Albawaba.com.
