Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has met with Air Force Commander Lieutenant-General Hamid Rija Shlah, fighters and researchers at the Iraqi Air Force Command, the official Iraq News Agency reported Monday.
They all congratulated the President on Ramadan, praying for the welfare and triumph of the Iraqi people and all Muslims, INA added.
The attendants restated their vows to maintain the country’s independence and defend its sanctuaries against “evil enemies.”
For his part, President Saddam Hussein praised their efforts to serve their country and people, noting that their persistence served as a glorious stance that mounts adherence to the people, nation and belief in their right of free life and complete dignity.
“This sense would raise more once you apply our duties towards the people and humanity in the light of your concepts of a civilized people”, Saddam expressed, and added, “We fight all fronts and all circumstances, and this means going on constructing on all fronts and fields of life, albeit, we would fight if we were exposed to aggression, though we hate the war”, INA said.
Based on this, the Iraqi leader continued, “We would be ready to fight on all fronts, let alone circumstance(s)”.
The Iraqi ruler concluded by saying that Iraqis play a leading role in all religions and that would grant them lessons on how to handle the enemies, the news agency added. (Albawaba.com)
