The Sahara Centre is pleased to announce the launch of an annual competition to select its Goodwill Ambassadors. The announcement coincides with the Sharjah Spring Promotion currently being held at Sharjah’s favourite shopping and leisure destination.
This elite club will have four members chosen from different private and public schools in Sharjah and will serve as the official youth representatives of Sahara Centre. Exciting prizes, media exposure and memorable experiences await the chosen ambassadors.
Students between 12 and 16 years of age will be judged based on scholastic records, academic achievements and proven contribution to their community. The winning students must possess the required characteristics to publicly represent Sahara Centre as its Goodwill Ambassadors.
“The launch of Sahara Centre’s Goodwill Ambassadors project highlights our continued commitment to corporate social responsibility. We have become the leading shopping and entertainment centre in Sharjah largely because of the wonderful and strong support given to us by the residents of the community,” said Dean John, General Manager, Sahara Centre. “Whilst we have implemented a number of CSR programs in the past, the Goodwill Ambassadors program will allow us to engage the youth in the spirit of public service and through them we hope to reach  more people in, as well as beyond, the community.”
This year, the winning ‘Goodwill Ambassadors’ will represent Sahara Centre in various events and shows and will act as spokespeople for the Centre with the objective of maintaining the mall’s positive image within the community at all times.
The benefits of being part of this elite group include: a scholarship contribution, an allowance toward books and other school-related expenses as well as a laptop computer with printer. Some other perks are representation allowances for events conducted or hosted by the Ambassador that aim to promote the Sahara Centre and numerous freebies and gifts from the different outlets at the mall.
“This is another pioneering effort from Sahara Centre, and we hope that with this new program we can inspire more young people, as well as their families, to become proactive members in contributing to the welfare of our community,” added Dean.
Those interested in participating and becoming a part of Sahara Centre’s Goodwill Ambassadors should contact the Sahara Centre’s Marketing Department at 06 5313666 for details.
